[ Signature ] signature on blade tô-shin-mei : Oku Yamato-no-kami Taira-no-asson Motohira hachi-jyû-issai "奥大和守平朝臣元平八十一歳"
[ Size ] Blade length 12,7cm (4 sun 1 bu 9 rin), moto-haba 1,14cm, moto-kasane 0,24cm, blade weight 17,1g, kogatana length 21,7cm, shirasaya length 23,2cm,
[ Period ] Edo, later
[ Province ] Satsuma

[ Feature ] Well grained jigane. It has ko-notare-ba in nie-deki. Boushi is komaru. Its saki shows hakikake.

First generation OKU Motohira was Satsuma clan's official swordsmith. He was a legitimate son of OKU Motonao. Commonly called Kôzaemon. He was born in Enkyô "延享" 1(1744). He was known as the best two of Satsuma shin-shin-tô swordsmith as Hôki-no-kami Masayoshi of Satsuma clan. In Kansei 1(1789), he was accredited to Yamato-no-kami. There are time stamps from Meiwa through Bunsei. He was died in his 83 years old, on 15th July Bunsei 9(1818)

[ Highlight ] Jigane shows its dexterity. Yubashiri appeared. Rich nie attached to konotare hamon. Dynamic finish in its style.

[ Conditions ] There is small rust. There is small flaw (which reach to mune) above 5cm of mune-machi. It might be stored in kozuka-fukuro, nakago has a little winding finish. On nakago, there is a mark of rosin.

[ Attachments ] Habaki (made of rosewood, single) and shirasaya.
