[ Signature ] omote : "備前國長船祐定" ura : "天正七年二月"
[ Size ] Blade length 67.4cm (2 shaku 2 sun 2 bu 4 rin), sori 2.0cm (6 bu 6 rin), moto-haba 3.08cm, moto-kasane 0.72cm, saki-haba 2.10 cm, saki-kasane 0.41 cm, mekugi-ana(hole) 1, blade weight 722.5g , shirasaya length 96cm
[ Period ] Muromachi, end of. Tensho "天正" 7 (1579)
[ Province ] Bizen "備前"

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Both mihaba and kasane are ordinal. Saki-zori attached. Chu-kissaki extended form. Machi has been advanced a little.
Nakago : Yasurimes are katte-sagari. Saki is kuri-jiri, a little advanced. One hole.
Jigane : Itame-hada. Jinie attached. Chikei appeared.
Hamon : Gunome-midare. Ashis appeared. Nie attached well. Sunagashis appeared. Part by part, mune-yaki tempered.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. It turns in komaru. Saki is haki-kake.

[ Highlight ]
Bizen Sukesada was a group of swordsmith, who worked actively at Bizen province at the end of Muromachi period. There are many swordsmith with the signature Sukesada "祐定". It was well known that meeting high demand for swords during Sengoku era, they proviced many practical use swords. Machi of this sword has been advanced a little, however, it maintains saki-zori attached nice balance. It is also precious the year of creation signature kept.

[ Conditions ]
There are some rough sufaces but no rusts observed. It can be preserved and appreciated in current conditions.

Habaki (suaka-ji, gold plating, single), shirasaya, bag of shirasaya and To-ken Hozon-kai Sho-shin paper "刀剣保存会正真鑑定書"( issued on 18th Oct. Heisei 21(2009) )
