[ Size ] Blade length 76,6cm (2 shaku 5 sun 2 bu 8 rin), sori 1,8cm (5 bu 9 rin), moto-haba 3,45cm, moto-kasane 0,84cm, saki-haba 2,57cm, saki-kasane 0,60 cm, mekugi-ana(hole) 1, blade weight 1,098g , shirasaya length 103,7cm
[ Period ] Edo, at the last period
[ Province ] Hitachi

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Mihaba is wide. Kasane is thick. Shallow sori attached. Chu-kissaki extended solid form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are ô-suji-kais and keshô. Sakis is kuri-jiri. One hole.
Jigane : Ko-itame-hada well grained. Jinie attached. Fine chikei appeared.
Hamon : Gunomes. Togari-bas, chô-ji-bas and notare mixed. Ashis, yô and shima-bas appeared. Sunagashi appeared as well. Mura-nie attached. Part by part, tempered portion of mune observed.
Boushi : It shows ji-zô style. It turns long with nie attached.

Shinkei Tanemitsu was born at Nakadate village, Makabe county, Hitachi province on 14th April Tenpô 3(1832). He was called Eikichi, pupil of Taikei Naotane. He was a swordsmith of Jô-shû Tsuchiura clan. He actively created swords at the end of Edo period, known as grand swords creator.

[ Conditions ] Both polishment, shirasaya and habaki maintain excellent conditions. Not noticeable but there is tiny scratch of vertical direction at mune side, above bôshi both omote and ura.

[ Attachments ] Habaki (suaka-ji, silver foiled, single), shirasaya, bag of shirasaya and NBTHK Tokubetsu Kichô paper (issued on 16th February Showa 44(1969).
