[ Signature ] omote : Rakuyô-jû Fujiwara Hirotsugu "洛陽住藤原廣次" ura : -
[ Size ] Blade length 62,1cm (2 shaku 0 sun 4 bu 9 rin), sori 1,2cm (3 bu 9 rin), moto-haba 3,09cm, moto-kasane 0,70cm, saki-haba 1,93 cm, saki-kasane 0,44 cm, mekugi-ana(hole) 1, blade weight 652g , shirasaya length 91cm
[ Period ] Edo, first half of
[ Province ] Yamashiro

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune. Moto-haba is relatively wide. There is a difference between moto-haba and saki-haba. High shinogi and moderate sori attached. Chû-kissaki form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are suji-kais. Saki is iri-yama-gata. One hole.
Jigane : It is ko-itame-hada in flowing. Jinie attached.
Hamon : It is gunome, ko-notare and togari-bas mixed. Hotsure("ほつれ") habuchi and ashis appeared. Part by part, rich nie attached. Sunagashi, yubashiri and tobiyaki appeared.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. In komaru form, it shows hakikake. Then, it turns reratively long.


Koshirae : kuro isime-ji-nuri-zaya han-dachi koshirae "黒石目地塗鞘半太刀拵" ;
Tsuba : kara-kusa-mon-zu shihô inome sukashi tachi-gata "唐草文図四方猪目透太刀型" (tetsu-ji kin nunome-zôgan)"鉄地 金布目象嵌" ;
Menuki : musha-zu"武者図"(dô-ji, katachi-bori, kin-iroe)("銅地容彫金色絵") ;
Kabuto-gane, fuchi, koi-kuchi, seme-gane and ishizuki "兜金、縁鯉口責金石突" in issaku(ensemble) "一作" (tetsu-ji, kin-iroe)("鉄地 金色絵"), ô-ka-zu kanagu(fittings) ("桜花図 金具") ;
Tsuka : kuro-ito moro-tsumami-maki "黒糸諸撮巻"

Hirotsugu was a former signature of Yamashiro-no-kami Toshinaga. He had a younger brother Mutsu-no-kami Toshinaga. His native province was Awa, Tokushima. Later on, he moved to Kyô("京"), lived at Ichi-jô Horikawa and O-ike Ino-kuma. He created swords actively around Kanbun period. He called himself Sakon and Gizaemon as well. Taking it into account his living place or style, it was considerable that he learned under Horikawa school swordsmith.

[ Highlight ] The sword which has enriched jigane, and nie with variety of changing. It is stored into sturdy koshirae, which has ensemble of iron fittings with full brooming cherry blossoms.

[ Conditions ] Part by part, there are, small or pale rust, scratches, such as on shinogi-ji, mune hira-ji or ha-saki. There is a smal rust mark, upper shinogi-ji from middle of blade, ura side. On jigane, there is rough terrain blelow half of omote side.

[ Attachments ] Habaki ( suaka-ji, gold painted, double), koshirae, bag of koshirae and NBTHK Hozon paper( issued on 2nd February Heisei 29(2017))
