[ Size ] Blade length 32.7cm (1 shaku 0 sun 7 bu 9 rin), sori 0.7cm (2 bu 3 rin), moto-haba 2.97cm, moto-kasane 0.64cm, mekugi-ana(hole) 1, blade weight 274g , shirasaya length 48.5cm
[ Period ] Shôwa "昭和" 56(1981)
[ Province ] Niigata prefecture "新潟県"




[ Feature ]
Form : Hira-zukuri. Mitsu-mune. Mihaba is relatively wide. Kasane is ordinal. Saki-zori attached. Length extended.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are suji-kai. Saki is kuri-jiri. One hole.
Engraving horimono : (omote) Sanskrit characters bonji and Daikokuten (ura) homa goma-bashi
Jigane : Ko-itame-hada well grained. Rich jinie attached. Fine chikei appeared. Nie-utsuri comes to appear.
Hamon : Loose notare-ba. Deep nioi appeared. Nie attached. Yu-bashiris, kin-sen and su-nagashis appeared.
Boushi : It runs in shallow notare. Saki is haki-kake. It turns in togari-gokoro.

Hand writings on the scabbard : (omote) made by Shigehira, summer day of Shôwa 56, Senshû engraved, blade length 1 shaku 7 bu (ura) pseudonym DAIKOKU Shigehira ji,ba and hori all excellent. 1982 May Mizunoe-Inu Satsuki for Mr NONAKA Hisatoshi. Shiba-zen(a seal)
"鞘書  表 : 繁平作 昭和五十六年夏日 仙秀彫之 刃長壱尺七分有之  裏 : 号 大黒繁平 地刃彫誠見事 壬戌早月 為野中寿利氏 柴喘(押印)"

[ Highlight ]
Both ji and ha's achievement level are so high, created by swordsmith WATANABE Shigehira who learned and mastered techniques and spirits of living national treasure, MIYAIRI Yukihira. Daikokuten engraving is well harmonized with blade, which was done by a leading blade engraver of Shôwa period, KOKEGUCHI Senshû. This is a blade of good omen as family treasure. This sword was called DAIKOKU Shigehira, which was given by Mr. SHIBATA Mitsuo, who was a dealer and connoisseur. His hand writings saya-gaki are given on the surface of scabbard.

[ Conditions ]
Elaborate sword polish was just given. It has extremely excellent conditions.

[ Attachments ]
Habaki (suaka-ji, gold foiled, single), shirasaya, bag of shirasaya and a letter of direct and original writing by Mr. SHIBATA Mitsuo which explain the origin of pseudonym.
