[ Highlight ] The Mihara bingo school is divided into two groups: the Ko-Mihara, which refers to the period from the late Kamakura period to the Nanbokucho period, and the Sue-Mihara, which refers to the period from the late Muromachi period. It is said that Yamato swordsmiths, including the Masaie of the Yamato Tegaki lineage, migrated to Mihara and passed on their swordsmanship. The style of the Mihara school is strongly influenced by the Yamato tradition, which has been maintained through the ages. This sword has a shallow curve with a difference in width at the top and bottom, and maintains a sound body structure, giving it the appearance of a new sword. The long yaki-sagué, characteristic of the Bingo Mihara school, is a highlight of the headdress boushi, called taki-otochi. The blade is straight, with a very shallow curve, with small ashis and leaves, and you can appreciate the change in decoration created by the boiling nie of the gold lines kin-sens and sunagashi.
