Edo Hôjô school was said that they were decendants of Hôjôji Kunimitsu, native province as Tanba. Ô-mi-no-kami Hôjôji Tachibana Masahiro was a representing swordsmtih. In same name, there were two generations. Based upon its time signature, this sword was created by second generation Masahiro, who lived in Edo. He had his signature such as "近江守法城寺橘正弘", "但州法城寺国光二十三代孫武州住橘正弘正徳二年壬辰八月日奉納三十蕃神" on his swords.
This is 1,000g exceeding dynamic sword. Clean sori attached, nice form as well. Following two elements are warmly harmonized in composure ; well grained jigane, and shallow notare hamon with several changes such as sequenced gunomes, nie, sunagashi, largely transit its line below yokote. Nioikuchi is so clear. Excellent in its creation. The signature might tell that this sword was specially created by demand from IIDA Uemon-no-jô Minamoto Hideyuki.
