[ Feature ]
Form : Kanmuri-otoshi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Mihaba is wide. Kasane is thick. There are some differences between moto-haba and saki-haba. No sori attached. Sun-nobi tanto form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are sen-suki. Saki is kuri-jiri. One hole.
Jigane : Itame-hada with some chages. Ko-mokumes mixed. Jinie attached.
Hamon : It attached shallow notare. Ashis appeared. Nie attached well. Sunagashis appeared.
Boushi : It turns in round.

Black lacquered scabbard, Aikuchi type, with dragon design menuki (gold coloured painting on shaku-do), ko-gatana, ko-zuka with rice handling design (on brass), Kougai (hairpin) with rice handling design (on brass).

[ Highlight ] Kusano Yoshiaki was a swordsmith from the late Edo period, called Kusano Tetsusaburo, whose home country was Inaba and who became a student of Gassan Sadayoshi and made his swords in Osaka. The period signatures include Ansei 6, Bunkyu 3, Keio 2, 3, 4 and Meiji 2. This work is a short sword with a wide blade and thick layers, made in the kanmuriotoshi-zukuri style, and both the ground and blade are well nie attached.

[ Conditions ] The sword is slightly scuffed at the habaki underside, but is otherwise excellent. The make has one spot where the paint has peeled off.
