[ Period ] Edo, around Kansei(1789~)

[ Province ] Tanba

[ Feature ] :
Form : Ryo-shinogi-zukuri, mihaba and kasane are both moderate. A little longer form.
Nakago : Yasurimes are o-sujikai and kesho-yasuri. Saki is ken-gyo. One hole.
Jigane : Well grained ko-itamehada. Komukume mixed. Jinie attached.
Hamon : Chu-suguha. A shallow notare. Koashi appeared. Nioikuchi is shimari-gokoro(rather tight). Konie attached. Hotsure and kui-chigai-ba mixed.
Boushi : It is yakitusme in sugu. Saki is hakikake.

FUJITA Shigehide was called FUJITA Tosakuro by himself. He was younger brother of Masashige TEGARAYAMA. He was a swordsmith of Sasaya AOYAMA family. He was died in Bunka 1(1804)
He made his signatures such as "Sasayam-ju Shigehide", "FUJITA Tosakuro Shigehide", "Tanba Sasayama-ju Mutsu daijo Shigehide" as such.

Sasayama locates current Sasayama town, Taki county, Hyogo pref. It prospered as Sasayama cran's castle town in Edo period.

[ Hightlight ]:
It is long noble form and clean bright jigane and hamon.

The sword was discovered and retrieved from Sweden by the previous owner.
After the polish, it was preserved carefully for long years.

It was considered that the koshirae was made during Edo period. The koshirae for ceremony in Dynasty elegant style is rare.
It is likely to be preserved in shrine, buddhist temple or noble family.

[ Condition ]: The ken's condition is excellent. Due from clack of saya lacquer surface, koshirae has a little laquer detached portions. The metal fittings, nagakazari of sayas are likely to move by aging (deterioration of fixing wheat lacquer), however, it is possible to repair refilling them by the specialist.
