[ Province ] Unknown

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi has steep inclination.
Nakago : Compared with the length of blade part, nakago is relatively longer than usual.
Jigane : So clean.
Hamon : In gunomes, togari-bas and ko-gunomes mixed. Tobiyakis appeared. Konie attached. Nioikuchi is clear.
Boushi : It shows a little hakikake. It turns in round.

[ Highlight ]

In the famous history tale "平家物語", one legendary tachi, called ex-Hizamaru "膝丸", which was said handed down in the family of Minamoto, Minamoto-no-Yoshitomo, Minamoto-no-Tameyoshi, Kumano bettô Tanzô and his son Kyô-shin specifically. The tachi was named usu-midori "薄緑" by Yoshitsune. The tachi supported Yoshitsune so much. Later, the tachi was offered to Hakone-Gongen shrine. Many old sword books mentioned Chô-en of Bungo province as the swordsmith of tachi. This kogatana has bright and fresh ji-ba appearance. It has some common feeling with mountain atmosphere in spring. So that the swordsmith mihgt be overlapped the image of big scale historical story which mentioned the tachi "薄緑" and this kogatana.


「熊野より春の山を分けて出でたり。夏山は緑も深く、春は薄かるらん。されば春の山を分け出でたれば、薄緑と名付けたり」(平家物語)。
( The tachi come spring moutain of Kumano. The degree of green is much deeper than spring. The tachi appeared in spring, so that it was named pale green usumidori "薄緑" (Tale of the Taira family Heike) )

There are pale rusts at kissaki and kogatana-machi.
