[ Province ] Kidai "畿内" or its suburb

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Mihaba is wide. Kasane is thick. There some differences between moto-haba and saki-haba. Moderate sori attached. Chû-kissaki form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are suji-kais. Saki is iri-yama-gata. Two holes.
Jigane : Ko-itame-hada well grained. Jinie attached.
Hamon : Notare, gunomes, ô-gunomes and ya-hazu like shape "ha"s mixed. Ashi and deep nioi appeared. Nie attached well. Sunagashis and tobi-yakis appeared. Part by part, tamas tempered.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. It turns in komaru shape.

[ Highlight ]
Fine balance in hand. Mainstream of Yamato Tegai school was called Mojyu "文殊" as well. There were other groups which delived from Nara. Such as Fushimi Monjyu "伏見文殊" who moved to Fushimi around Bunroku "文禄", Yamagami Monjyu "山上文殊" who moved to Senshû province, Sakai, and Nara Monjyu "奈良文殊" pupils group who remained at Nara "奈良". Nanki Shigekuni "南紀国重" of Kishï province and Sa Mutsu Kaneyasu "左陸奥包保" might belong Yamagami Monjyu line. This sword seemed to be created by a swordsmith who belonged Monjyu school in Kidai "畿内" or its suburb. In this connection, Nogami Jinjya shrine, where the ceremony held before burning dead grass in early spring at Wakakusayama mountain, had legendary stone which was used and broken by of Monjyu Shiro. So that the shrine called Monjyu Shirô shrine by another name. (cf. "日本刀大百科事典" by Fukunaga Suiken)
