[ Period ] Muromachi, end of.
[ Province ] Owari "尾張"

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Ioiri-mune. Mihaba is relatively wide. Kasane is ordinal. High shinogi-suji attached. Relatively high sori and saki-zori attached.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are suji-kai. Saki is kuri-jiri. One hole.
Jigane : Itame-hada. More or less, grained patterns come to be appeared on surface. Mokumes and masa with some changes mixed. Jinie attached. Chikei appeared.
Hamon : Ko-notare, gunomes and togari-bas mixed. Ashis and sunagashis appeared. Ko-nie attached.
Boushi : It runs in notare-komi. Form is ko-maru. It turns deeply.

[ Highlight ]
Hida no Kami Ujifusa "飛騨守氏房" was born in Seki, Mino, in the 10th year of the Eiroku "永禄" era (1615-1704), and was named Kawamura Isechiyo "河村伊勢千代". At the age of eleven, in the 5th year of Tensho, he entered the service of Oda Nobutaka "織田信孝" as a appointed-sever "側小姓" , and after Nobutaka's suicide, he became a ronin. In Tensho 12, he became a subordinate of Sakuma Masakatsu "佐久間正勝", the lord of Kanie Castle in Bishu. After the fall of Masakatsu, he moved to Kiyosu "清州" and started his career as a swordsmith in around 17 Tensho.He learned to make swords from Ujifusa Wakasa. In the 19th year of the Tensho Era, the Chief Adviser to the Mikado Kanpaku "関白" Hidetsugu "秀次" became the lord of Kiyosu.
Ujifusa, Masatsune and Nobutaka were granted an audience at Juraku-dai and presented their own swords to the court. In May of the first year of the Bunroku Era (1688-1704), Ujifusa went to Kyoto again and was given the title of Hida no Kami. He moved from Kiyosu to Nagoya in around 15 or 16 Keicho. He was an active worker for Tokugawa Yoshinao "徳川義直". In the New Year of Kan'ei 8, he handed over the governorship to Bizen no kami Ujifusa "備前守氏房" . He died in October of the same year at the age of 65. This work has a good shape, well-polished itame forging with visible skin grain, and even-textured wavy blade pattern with attached nie. It is a piece of work with generosity and high spirits. He had his signature such as "尾州飛騨守藤原氏房", "飛騨守藤原氏房", "飛騨守藤原朝臣氏房作", "飛騨藤原朝臣氏房", "飛騨守氏房", "氏房", etc. There are chronological works such as Tensho "天正"10, Keicho "慶長" 9 and 10.
