[ Size ] Blade length 52.4cm (1 shaku 7 sun 2 bu 9 rin), sori 0.8cm (2 bu 6 rin), moto-haba 3.02cm, moto-kasane 0.65cm, saki-haba 2.27 cm, saki-kasane 0.58 cm, mekugi-ana(holes) 2, blade weight 535.5g , shirasaya length 75.5cm
[ Period ] Edo, second half of.
[ Province ] Musashi "武蔵"

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Mihaba is relatively wide. Kasane is ordinal. Shallow sori attached. Chû-kissaki extended.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are (old) ô-suji-kais (new) kiris. Saki is iri-yama-gata. Two holes.
Jigane : Ko-itame-hada well grained. Jinie attached.
Hamon : Ô-gunome-midare. Gunomes and chô-ji-bas mixed. Ashis appeared. Nie attached well.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. Form is ko-maru. Saki is haki-kake shape. It turns relatively long.

[ Highlight ] Akama Tsunanobu "赤間綱信" was a swordsmith of the late Edo period, known as Akama Kisaburo "赤間喜三郎" and a student of Katô Tsunahide "加藤綱英". He moved from Dewa-Yonezawa to Edo (now Tokyo) to make swords. He has his signature such as "羽州米沢住綱信", "羽州米沢住赤間綱信", "綱信作", "於東都赤間綱信", "赤間綱信作", etc. There are chronological inscriptions such as Bunsei 9/10/11, Tempou 5/8/13 and Kaei Gan(e.g. 文政九・十・十一、天保五・八・十三、嘉永元) This work is a very bright and dynamic piece of work with an ô-gunome-midare in the style of a Tô-rang style.

 [ Conditions ] For the omote side, around machi, there are shallow scratches on the vertical fracture. For the ura side, above 12cm of machi, Minor scratches and light rust on flat surfaces.
