[ Feature ]
Form : The blade features a shinogi-zukuri construction, an iori-mune ridge, an ordinary width, a high shinogi line, a curved tip, and a medium cutting edge with an extended tip.
Nakago : The nakago tang is raw, with a higaki file finish, a kurijiri tip, and one mekugi hole.
Jigane : The jigane (base metal) exhibits an itame-hada texture, interspersed with mokume-grain and nagare-kogokoro patterns, with ji-nie (fine surface grain).
Hamon : The hamon features sharp, interlocking mune patterns with frequent nebu, accompanied by yubashiri and sunagashi, with some tobi-yaki.
Boushi : The boshi is disordered, sweeping towards the tip, with a long return and some mune-yaki.

[ Highlight ] Kanewaki was a swordsmith active in Mino Seki from the late Muromachi period to the early Edo period, with multiple individuals sharing this name. Three are recorded in the book of signatures: one active around the Bunmei era, one around the Tenmon era, and one around the Keichō era (with a dated work from Keichō 8). This wakizashi features a high ridge line, a significantly extended medium cutting edge, itame-hada hamon, and a well-developed nie with tobi-yaki flying-tempered patterns and abundant nie. It is a piece with a lively, dynamic finish.

[ Conditions ] There are slight flaws and minor rust spots.
