[ Feature ]
Form : Hirazukuri, iori-mune, broad body, thick layers, shallow curvature.
Engraving : The carving features a rod-shaped groove with an accompanying groove carved alongside, sweeping upwards near the nakago tang.
Nakago : The tang is advanced, with file marks, a cut tip, and two mekugi-anan peg holes.
Jigane : The jigane has a board-grain texture, with ji-nie and chikei present.
Hamon : The hamon is undulating, interspersed with gunome-head patterns, with abundant nie. Rough nie appears part by part, accompanied by yubashiri and a hint of haki-kake.
Boushi : The boshi features a sweeping tip, tapering to a pointed appearance.

[ Highlight ] This piece is an unmarked wakizashi attributed to Higo-no-kami Teruhiro, forged in the hirazukuri style. Its imposing form features well-refined itame-grain jigane, displaying a powerful variation near the hamon line on the front surface. This harmonises splendidly with the deep, rich hamon pattern, creating a magnificent overall effect. Higo-no-kami Teruhiro is said to be a descendant of Mino Kanetsune, a swordsmith active around the Keichō era. He travelled from Seki to Kyoto, became a disciple of Myoju, and later served as swordsmith to Fukushima Masanori. While signature works by Higo-no-kami Teruhiro are scarce, pieces like this one, polished and cherished over time, likely exist in reasonable numbers given his skill and background. This piece also comes with a well-preserved sheath.

[ Conditions ] There is some pitting visible on the blade in the front section, but otherwise it is in excellent condition.
