[ Feature ] [ Highlight ] This is a wakizashi with a moderate difference in width between the base and the tip, and a moderately curved blade. The blade features itame forging with a hamon that starts as a gentle straight-edged pattern, becoming more dynamic towards the middle of the blade, and developing into a small ko-gunome pattern around the point. It appears to have been transferred to a shira-saya when it was recently polished, having previously been housed in its original mountings. The fact that it retains its original mountings makes it a rare find. [ Conditions ] There is a shallow temper line in the middle of the base of the blade. The blade has been polished and is in excellent condition. The shira-saya and tsunagi are new. The sheath features a repair, with tape wrapped around the middle of the lacquered sheath. |
[ Attachments ] Habaki(suaka-ji, silver foiled single), shirasaya, bag of shirasaya, koshirae and bag of koshirae. |
