[ Size ] Blade length 47.8 cm (1 shaku 5 sun 7 bu 7 rin), curvature 1.1 cm (3 bu 6 rin), base width 2.65 cm, base thickness 0.51 cm, tip width 2.00 cm, tip thickness 0.36 cm, 1 mekugi hole, sword body weight 397 g, total length of shira-saya 69.3 cm, total length of koshirae outfit 68 cm.
[ Period ] Period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties (1336-1392)
[ Province ] Yamato

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune, width and height of body width and thickness, deep curvature with a slight difference in width at the base and tip, curvature with medium cutting edge.
Nakago : Suri-age, rasped patterns are kiri, saki shape is kiri and with one mekugi hole.
Jigane : Itame grain skin, with changes towards the blade, intermixed with mokume wood grain, with a slightly raised grained pattern and nie attached.
Hamon : The blade is straight, with a tightened distinction agains base, nie attached well , with kin-sen gold streaks and sunagashi appeared.
Boushi : It begins in sugu form. Shape is ko-maru. It has haki-kake shape.

Wakizashi with black roiro painted scabbard: Sword guard (shaku-do, polished base), tiger and fury design on metal head (shaku-do, nanako-ji base), three-sided design of bamboo crabs, round and itaya shell pattern, menuki (shaku-do, carved with openwork), white sharkskin with black thread, katahira maki (one side flat roll).

[ Highlight ] Tegai Kanetoshi was a swordsmith of the Yamato Tegai school from the Eitoku period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, and a student of Kaneyuki. The shinogi-zukuri is high and wide, despite being suri-age, and shows the characteristics of Yamato-mono swords. The base iron is slightly itame grain with mokume, with partly flowing skin and a white-hazed appearance, and the highlights are the bright straight blades with kin-sen gold streaks and sunagashi. It is said that the name Tegai-ha originated from a group of swordsmiths who lived near the Tengaimon gate of Todai-ji and were subordinate to Todai-ji.
