[ Feature ]
Form : An equilateral triangle sei-sankaku-zukuri. Shio-kubi is short. It is gettwing narrower the width from bottom moto to top saki.
Nakago : Ubu. Saki is kuri-jiri. Yasurimes are katte-sagari. Two holes.
Jigane : Ko-itame-hada well grained. Jinie attached.
Hamon : Sugu-ha. Nie attached well.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. Saki turns in komaru.
[ Highlight ]
OKU Motohira was known as top swordsmith as same as Hôki-no-kami Masayuki in Satsuma Shin-shin-tô. This sword(yari)'s signature showed that it was made in his 76 years old. Nakago remains its orignal length so that the yari is so valuable. A koshirae is composed by a gourd shape black lacquer kuro-urushi saya and black and red lacquer kuro-shu-urushi partly kizami-saya. Apparently, its shape give us enjoyable feeling. The shape stir up the interest in its intention and use. You can read the intention of the predecessor who was conscious of preparing for defense.
