[ Highlight ] Ribei-no-jo Tameie was the second generation to succeed the first Tameie, who was the youngest son of Aoe Tametsugu, circa Keicho. He was the younger brother of Mizuta Yamashiro dai-jo Kunishige and created swords (Kan'ei 18). He mainly created swords around the Kan'ei era, and there are two dated 18/19 Kan'ei. Some swords bear signatures such as ‘Kono Ribei no jo Tameie, Bicchu-kuni Azabe 備中國呰部住河野理兵衛尉為家’ or ‘Tameie, Bicchu-kuni Azae 備中國呰部住為家’, and some have sealed designs. This work is a solid wakizashi of shinogi-zukuri, with a curvature of about right, a well-grained forged, nie attached, curved blade with a muneyaki pattern, and a strong, powerful finish. A sword with the same signature has also been introduced and can be owned as a large or small dai-sho sword.

[ Conditions ] There is one forge crack at about 17-18 cm above the omote shinogi-ji base. There are flaws, rubbing and small rusts from old polishing, but these can be removed by polishing.
