Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Kasane is relatively thick. There are some differences between moto-haba and saki-haba. Moderate sori attached. Chu-kissaki form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are kiri. Saki is ha-agari, kuri-jiri. One hole.
Jigane : Ko-itame-hada well grained. Jinie attached.
Hamon : Sugu-ha tone. Shallow notare attached. Gunomes mixed. Nie attached well.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. It has komaru form.

[ Highlight ] Sukeharu was a Bizen swordsmith of the late Edo period, who made signatures such as 'Made by Bizen Nagafune Yokoyama Sukeharu' and 'Made by Bizen Province Nagafune Sumitomo Naru 56th grandson Yokoyama Sukeharu'. He was the son of Yasunoshin Suetsugu (second son of Bizen Gennoshin Nagatsugu, circa Bunsei era), called Shigehira, and his works are dated to Tenpo 11, Koka 5 and Kaei 7, among others.
This created swords has a solid hand-held appearance with a sense of thickness in the layers. It has a slightly large surface at the base and itame grain forging surface that changes to itame grain forging upwards, which is thought to be the result of the forging method. The fine, even and well-done boiling with a curved blade pattern is superb. It is believed to have been made in the later years of Yuharu's life and given a substituted signature by Yusamune, a collaborator in the creation of the swords.
