[ Period ] Muromachi, second half of.
[ Province ] Mino

[ Feature ]
Form : HIra-zukuri. Iori-mune. Mihaba is wide. Kasane is ordinal. Shallow sori attached form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are higaki. Saki is shallow kuri-jiri. One hole.
Engraving : Both on omote and ura sides, there are bô-his.
Jigane : Itame-hada with some changes. Jinie attached. Shirake-utsuri come to be appeared.
Hamon : In gunomes, togari-bas, gunome choji and squared blade patterns mixed. Part by part, nie attached. Tobi-yaki, kin-sens and sunagashis appeared.
Boushi : It runs in midare-komi. Tobi-yakis mixed. It comes to be hitatsura pattern.

[ Highlight ] Wide mihaba, shallow sori attached sun-nobi form tanto. Gunome-midare hamon which has clear distinction between foerged blade and jigane. Near kissaki, from hira-ji to boushi, grained surface has the change of jigane colour and tone, especially on omote side. It becomes the fine appreciation point same as delicate hamon of boshi. Kanefusa was a swordsmith from Seki, in the province of Noshu, and there were several swordsmiths of the same name from the mid-Muromachi period to the Shintō period. The sword is known as the 'Kanefusa midaere', a distinctive gunome-midare hamon sword with a rounded head.


[ Conditions ] There is pale rust but it can be appreciated and preserved in current conditions.

[ Attachments ] Habaki (silver, single), shirasaya, bag of shirasaya and NBTHK Tokubetsu hozon paper (issued on 9th Nov. Reiwa 2(2021)).
