[ Size ] Blade length 50.4 cm (1 shaku 6 sun 6 min 3 rin), sori 1.2 cm (3 min 9 rin), base width 3.20 cm, base thickness 0.70 cm, tip width 2.28 cm, tip thickness 0.42 cm, 2 mekugi holes, blade weight 573.5 g, total length shira-saya 76 cm.

[ Province ] Yamashiro

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune, slightly wider body, slightly thicker grain, with a shallow sori warp and medium cutting edge.
Nakago : Ubu-nakago. Yarurimes with suji-kai, saki is ha-agari, kuri-jiri. Two mekugi holes.
Jigane : Ko-itame-hada. With some changes and itame-hada. Jinie attached. Tobiyaki and mune-yaki appeared.
Hamon : Cho-ji-midare. Ashi and yo appeared. Ko-nie attached. Fine suangashi, tobi-yaki and mune-yaki appeared.
Boushi : It runs in midare-komi. Saki is ko-maru and haki-kakie form. It truns relatively deep.

[ Highlight ] Sekido Masatoshi was a swordsmith of the Kishu Sekido school who made swords in Yamashiro in the early Edo period. The signature indicates that he also made swords in Edo. His signatures include 'Heianjo Sekido Ukon Masatoshi', 'Heianjo Musashi ju Masatoshi', 'Heianjo Fujiwara Masatoshi', 'Sekido Masatoshi' and 'Sekido Masatoshi'. The chronology includes Shoho 1, Keian 1 and Shouou 3. Some works, like this one, dare to use the character for "do" in the Sekido school, but use the character for "way" instead. The body is wide and the grain is quite thick, giving the wakizashi a sturdy appearance. The muneyaki (burning) has been applied around the monochiuchi. The sword is a masterpiece of the Sekido school, with the characteristic cho-ji midare style, with a mixture of ashi and yo-entering tobiyaki and a beautifully disordered reflection. Itame grain is visible on the Shinogi-ji.

[ Conditions ] There is a slightly forged area with cracks to the front. Otherwise excellent.
