[ Highlight ] Kuniharu Komiya was a swordsmith from Fukuoka, born in 1929. He was the second son of Shiro Kunimitsu Komiya and, together with his elder brother Kuniyasu, learnt the art of creating swords from his father. He received his certification as a swordsmith on 3 July 1954. This piece features a slight degree of curvature in its profile, feels light in the hand, and boasts a striking ‘gunome-midare’ hamon with prominent gold lines. It was formerly owned by a master instructor of iaido.

[ Conditions ] The blade has been polished in the iaido style; whilst there are some slight flaws, there is no rust. Although it shows signs of use, it is preserved in good condition within its iaido sheath.

[ Attachments ] Habaki(silver ,single), koshirae and bag of koshirae.
