[ Highlight ] This wakizashi is made in the naginata-no-oshi style, with a slightly rough skin and a slightly rough texture. Inaba-no-kami Kintoki was a swordsmith from Mino-Seki who made swords in the mid-Edo period, around the time of the Enpo era, and also made swords in Edo. He also cut the signature Inaba no kami Fujiwara no Kintoki. In an old document in the Kasuga Taisha Shrine collection, "Kasuga Jinko Shinko Hosho Mokuroku Sho (Catalogue of Treasures in the Kasuga Shrine)" (established in the Meiji period), there is a record of Ii Naosuke dedicating a sword made by Inaba Kintoki to the Kasuga Taisha Shrine, which reads "Treasure inside/hito-tachi (sword by Inaba-no-kami Kintoki), hito-koshi (votive owner) Hikone Castle Lord Naosuke. From ancient times in Japan, it was believed that the more one cherished an object, the more merit one could accumulate in offering it to the gods and Buddha. Not many of Inaba-no-kami Kintoki's works have been seen, but his connection to this history makes him an intriguing sword smith.

[ Conditions ] There are three forging cracks in the blade, but these are natural blemishes created during the forging and hardening process and do not hinder the appreciation of the boldness of the blade, which is also its flavour.
