[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri, with an iori-mune; standard width and thickness; wide shikigane, high shikigane ridge, shallow curvature, and a medium cutting edge.
Nakago : The nakago tang has been advanced; the file marks are cut diagonally (old style) or straight (new style); the tip is cut; two mekugi holes.
Jigane : The jigane exhibits an itame-hada texture with some flowing patterns, is slightly raised, has a fine grain, and shows a slight hint of white.
Hamon : The hamon is a medium straight edge, with a tight nioguchi, fine grain, and a mixture of sweeping and fraying patterns, with some sunagashi patterns.
Boushi : The boushi hamon start straight and slightly rounded, curving back somewhat deeply.

[ Highlight ] Swordsmiths who created blades at the Mihara base in Bingo Province are collectively referred to as ‘Ko-Mihara’ for the period from the late Kamakura period through to the Nanboku-chō period, and as ‘Sue-Mihara’ for the Muromachi period. Descended from Masakane, notable names include Masahiro, Takamitsu and Yukiyoshi. The characteristic style of the Mihara school features a jigane with a flowing itame-hada and abundant ji-nie, often displaying a straight hamon with slight irregularities, and possesses a Yamato-like temperament. This piece has been polished to reveal a slightly shallow curvature; it feels substantial and substantial in the hand, and is a fine example with both the jigane and hamon attached excellent nie.

[ Conditions ] There is old polishing, but there is a slight trace of rust.

[ Attachments ] Habaki( suaka-ji, single), shirasaya, bag of shirasaya and NBTHK hozon paper (issued on 11th July Heisei 2(1990)).
