[ Highlight ] According to the book of signatures, Nagatsugu Fujiwara was a Kaga swordsmith who was active mainly during the Edo period (1684-1688). In Kaga, the Maeda family, the feudal lord of the Kaga domain, heavily protected outstanding swordsmiths in the Edo period, and Kaga shinto (new swords) flourished. This group of swordsmiths was made up of three lines of swordsmiths: the Fujishima and Darani lines, which were native to Kaga, and the Kanewaka and others from Mino. In Jouou 3, when Maeda Tsunanori was 10 succeeding years old (12 years old), he inherited the fifth generation of the Kaga Maeda family. His grandfather Toshitsune, who was in charge of administration, selected 22 swordsmiths from his domain, had one sword made each, and dedicated them to Zuiryuji, the family temple of his predecessor, Marquis Toshinaga, to pray for Tsunanori's long military career. The sword was dedicated to Zuiryu-ji Temple, the family temple of his predecessor, Prince Toshinaga, to pray for the longevity of Tsunanori's military fortunes. This work has a solid construction with thick layers, and the Mino colour can be seen in the itame grain, masa-ga karu skin and the blade pattern.

[ Conditions ] There is a slightly noticeable forging crack near the blade zone on the back. Overall, there are some flaws, but there is no rust, and the sword can be preserved and appreciated in its current state.
