[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Both mihaba and kasane are ordinal. There diffrences between moto-haba and saki-haba. High shinogi-suji and shallow sori attached. Chu-kissaki form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurime are not able to distinguish clearly. Saki is kuri-jiri. One hole.
Jigane : Itame-hada. Totally, strong changes can be observed. Grained pattern come to be appeared on the surface. Fine jinie attached. Chikei appeared. Shirake-utsuri are shown.
Hamon : Based on narrow-sugu-ha, ko-notare and ko-gunomes mixed.
Boushi : In midare-gokoro, it turns into komaru form.

[ Highlight ] In the late Heian period, a swordsmith called Masakuni came from Yamato to Naminohira base in Taniyama- county, Satsuma, and is said to have been the founder of the Naminohira school. After his son Yukiyasu, the school flourished and extended into the new swordmaking period at the end of the Edo period. Within this school, swordsmiths who did not leave the Nanbokucho period and their created swords are collectively known as Ko-Naminohira. This work has a style that strongly expresses the Yamato temperament, and is characterised by itame forged surface with itame grain flow, white reflections on the surface, and a fine straight blade with a loose nioi-kuchi. The sword has a slightly machi-okuri and the yaki-otoshi cannot be confirmed, but its prestigious appearance is a highlight.

[ Conditions ] There are marks near the mekugi holes on the stem of the front of the nakago, as if the signature and the rasp around it have been smoothed out.
