[ Highlight ] The book of signatures lists Kanehisa from the Ōei period as the founder of the Seki Tokuin school, though multiple Kanehisa of this school existed throughout the Muromachi period. This piece is attributed to a Kanehisa of the Tokuin school from the late Muromachi period. It is a sound tanto, allowing one to appreciate the Mino tradition. The fact that the signature is inscribed on the reverse is also rather unusual.
