[ Highlight ] Sue Aoe was made by a swordsmith from the late Nanbokucho period to the early Muromachi period, who was descended from the long-lasting Aoe Sadatsugu lineage of the same name. In addition to Sadatsugu, others such as Moritsugu, Hidetsugu, Nagatsugu and Kagesugu are known. The number of swords made by this swordsmith is smaller than that of the Bizen forging swordsmiths of the same period. This sword is no signature with o-suri-age and is thought to have originally been a long sword, and the curved shape of the stem shows traces of this. The fine straight blade is mixed with ko-ashis, nezumi-ashis and yos, and the jigane is grained with itame-hada (itame skin), with jifu-utsuri appearing, suggesting that it was made by a swordsmith of the Sue-Aoe school.
[ Conditions ] Overall, there is minor rusting and fogging.
