[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune. Mihaba is relatively wide. Kasane is thick. Shallow sori attached. Chu-kissaki extended form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are o-suji-kais and kesho. Saki is deep iri-yama-gata. One hole.
Jigane : Ko-itame-hada well grained. Jinie attached.
Hamon : It runs in sugu from yaki-dashi. O-gunome-midare, ashis and deep nioi appeared. Nie attached well.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. It turns in ko-maru form.

[ Highlight ] Nobuchika was a swordsmith from Owari called Maeda Sadahachi who learnt the art of making swords from (*)Owari VI Nobutaka (ca. An'ei era) before moving to Osaka and becoming a student of Ozaki Suketaka before receiving (**) the title of Nagato no kami and changing his name to Masanojo Sukekane. He died in the same year. This work was made after he moved to Osaka and shows the influence of the do-ran-bas wave-around blade style of Ozaki Suketaka, who was a personal admirer of Echizen-no-kami Sukehiro. Judging by the relationship between master and apprentice and the chronology of his work, the period during which he made swords was not very long. This sword has a shallow curve, a sturdy handle, a well-grained base and a sound piece with a deep nioi and a large gunome alternating with a wavy blade pattern.
