[ Highlight ] This work is a typical example of a body of form from the Northern and Southern Dynasties. Even thogugh o-suri-age, the body is wide and the thickness is thin compared to the body. Chu-kissaki extended dynamic form. Although there are only a few pieces of Etsu-shu Kuniyuki "越州国行" with a definite name, the period is clear from the fact that there is a piece with the Teiji "貞治" era. The style emphasises the nie like Soshu-den. The blackish jigane with vertical grain is a characteristic of the Hokoku style. On the other hand, first generation Seki-shu Sadatsuna, son of Naotsuna, was a swordsmith of the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, around the Shohei era. Range of gunomes, strong nie attached, iron has blackish colour. They are the points of appreciation. Different appraisers do not always agree on the authenticity of the swords of no signature. That's the interesting part. However, the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties is consistent, no matter who is doing the appraisal. It may be possible to gain new insights by having it at hand and comparing it with other swords of the period. The workmanship is very good and the piece is worthy of appreciation. This sword is recommended for those who like swords of the Nanbokucho period.
