[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Mihaba is wide. High shinogi-suji attahed. More or less, sori attached. Chu-kissaki extended.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurime are kiri. Saki form is ken-gyo. One hole.
Jigane : Masame-hada.　More or less, jinie attached, which grained patterns come to be surface. Chikei mixed which makes jigane "kawari-gane".
Hamon : In suguha-tone, shallow notare attached. Nie attached well. Sunagashi and kin-suji appeared frequently.
Boushi : It runs in sugu form. It turns round. Saki has haki-kake shape. It tempered long for downward.

[ Highlight ] Although this work is unsigned, it is a magnificent and martial-looking wakizashi with a straight-edged blade pattern that is a mixture of wavy and straight, and both the blade and the ground are well-tempered and full of vigour. Based on this style of work, it has been determined that it was made by Katsumura Tokukatsu. Katsumura Tokukatsu, also known as Hikoroku, was born in Mito in 1809. After studying under Sekiuchi Tokumune, a swordsmith from the Mito domain, he is said to have travelled to Edo in 1852 at the behest of the domain, where he studied under Hosokawa Masayoshi and Unju Korekazu. He moved to the Mito domain's residence in Koishikawa, Edo, in the Bunkyu era, and continued to make swords there. He died on 29th February 1872 at the age of 64.

[ Conditions ] There is a slight dot-shaped sumi-gomori depression in the blade about 3cm from the hamachi back edge.
