Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Kasane is ordinal. There are some diffrences between moto-haba and saki-haba. Sori attached. Chu-kissaki form.
Nakago : Ubu. O-suji-kais with kesho-yasuri. Saki is ha-agari, kuri-jiri. One hole.
Jigane : Clear itame-hada, well grained. Jinie attached. Chikei appeared.
Hamon : It has long tempering area from top of nakago (Yakidashi is long). In notare-tone, gunomes mixed. Deep nioi and cho-ji-bas appeared. Nioi-kuchi is bright and clear. Ko-nie attached. Kin-sens and sunagashis appeared.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. Form is ko-maru. Saki is haki-kake. It turns relatively long.

[ Highlight ] Dohi Shinryo was a Hizen swordsmith of the mid-Edo period, around the time of Enpo, who was known as Dohi and Sakuzaemon Masashige, and was the son of the swordsmith Dohi Masanori. He studied swordsmithing under Inoue Shinkai, returned to Hizen during the Tenwa period, became a swordsmith in the Matsuura family, and made swords in Hirado. This work is a superb example of the Soshu-den style, with its beautiful Jigane, deep and bright nioi blade with a Cho-ji style ashi, and kin-sen, sunagashi streams. The Dohi Shinryo name was passed down through five generations until the late Edo period.
