[ Highlight ] Sukekuni was a swordsmith of the Sekido school in his native Kii. He later moved to Osaka and was active in Settsu around the Kanbun period. His signatures include "Kii no kuni Sukekuni", "Bizen no kami Minamoto no Sukekuni" and "Hanabusa Bizen no kami Minamoto no Sukekuni", and the date "Kanbun 7". He was a skilled Bizen swordsmith who was highly regarded not only for his cho-ji midare (Bizen swordsmith's art), which was a family speciality of the Sekido school, but also for his Doranba and classic straight blades, which were popular in Osaka at the time, and his sharpness as a swordsmith was also highly regarded. Despite its shallow curvature and seemingly smart curved form, this sword has a solid and solid feel and is of good workmanship with a fine forged surface and a large alternating pattern with a deep nioi and well-darkened nie. It comes with a good condition, late-Edo period outfit.
[ Conditions ] The hamachi blade section is also firm and appears to have undergone a low number of polishing cycles, making it very excellent.
