[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune, wide body, ordinary thickness, slight curvature, medium cutting edge.
Nakago : Raw tang, file marks on the upper side, iriyamagata tip, one mekugi hole.
Jigane : The jigane has a well-grained itame-hada with ji-nie and chikei.
Hamon : The hamon is a wavy line with a deep nioi, well-attached nie, mixed with ara-nie, and covered with kin-suji and sunagashi.
Boushi : The boushi is straight, with a small round shape on the front and a pointed shape on the back, both swept and it turns slightly deep.

[ Highlight ] Masayoshi Hoki no Kami was the son of second Ijichi Masayoshi, born in 1733. He named himself Masayoshi III and received the title of Hoki no Kami in 1789, changing his name to Masayoshi. His outstanding skill earned him a place alongside Oku Motohira as one of the two greatest swordsmiths of the Satsuma Shinshin-to school. This piece is one of Masayuki's specialities, with a wide, sturdy construction, ji-nie partially overflowing to the shinogi-ji, and a blade pattern with alternating curves and straight lines, a bright hamon, and a kin-sen golden streak and sunagashi, giving it a dynamic appearance. The signature, which includes his age of 73, is also valuable.

[ Conditions ] There are slight flaws and rust marks on the stem tip, but otherwise it is in excellent condition.
