[ Feature ] Lacquered in Kuro-ro colour, with an ai-kuchi jointed sheath [ Highlight ] This tanto possesses the distinctive form characteristic of late Bizen-style blades: it is short in length, with a thick layer of grain relative to its width; it is flat and lacks curvature, with a bulging and hollowed-out profile; and it has a long tang with a flared tip. Its hamon features a combination of a curved pattern and a ‘koshi-biraki’ pattern interspersed with sunagashi, and is characterised by a strong ‘kiri’ in both the base and the hamon. It is mounted in a simple, black-lacquered sheath with a aikuchi-koshirae form. |
