[ Feature ]
Form : Flat-forged, with an iori-mune spine; the blade has a slightly thicker thickness than its width, with no curvature, and a somewhat flat in cutting line, subdued profile.
Nakago :The nakago tang is natural; the file marks slope downwards, the tip is chestnut-shaped, and there is a single mekugi hole.
Jigane : The jigane exhibits an itame-hada texture, interspersed with flowing and coarse grain patterns, and is marked by ji-nie.
Hamon : The hamon features a wavy pattern intermingled with ‘gunome’ (interlocking eyes), with abundant ni, and a touch of sunagashi.
Boushi :The boushi is straight with a slight point, sweeping at the tip and curving back slightly.

[ Highlight ] This tanto possesses the distinctive form characteristic of late Bizen-style blades: it is short in length, with a thick layer of grain relative to its width; it is flat and lacks curvature, with a bulging and hollowed-out profile; and it has a long tang with a flared tip. Its hamon features a combination of a curved pattern and a ‘koshi-biraki’ pattern interspersed with sunagashi, and is characterised by a strong ‘kiri’ in both the base and the hamon. It is mounted in a simple, black-lacquered sheath with a aikuchi-koshirae form.

[ Conditions ] There is a small scratch on the back, near the centre of the blade. There are some slight signs of rot on the tang. Otherwise, it is generally excellent.
