[ Highlight ] Kanenobu was born in 1903 and was called Niwa Shuji. He began training in sword forging under his father Kanematsu (sword forging name: Kanenobu兼信 → Kanenobu兼延) in 1917, and took the name Kanenobu from his father. In 1940, he became the first swordsmith to be commissioned by the Kokura Army Arsenal, and was highly acclaimed, receiving a gold medal at the New Japanese Sword Exhibition and a technical award from the Arsenal in 1943. After the war, he received approval to create swords in 1967, and he made his own iron and improved the construction of his swords by filling in the four sides, and he researched Yamato-den, particularly Tegai and Yamato-Shizu. This work has a shallow curvature and a normal curved form, and the well-forged blade has a wavy blade pattern with a mixture of pointed and double-edged blades, which is a style that inherits the Seki tradition, and it is clear that this style was also fundamentally good.

[ Conditions ] There is round rust and small dot-shaped rust about 1-2cm from the yokote on the front. There are traces of decay in parts from the hiraji to the shinogi-ji on the monochiuchi on the reverse side. There is also rust decay on the stem. The habaki is weak and unstable.
