[ Highlight ] The Fukuoka Ishido school is a school of swordsmiths descended from the Edo Ishido Sakon Korekazu "石堂左近是一". Together with the Chikuzen Nobukuni school, it is regarded as one of the best swordsmiths group in Chikuzen shinto. Koretsugu and Moritsugu are known as the leading masters of the Fukuoka Ishido school. This piece was made by Moritsugu and is characterized by its deep sori attached form and well grained jigane with a thick, masa-tone texture. The blade is of excellent quality, with a straight edge with a brilliant nioi, rather than the usual "Choji midare". The inscription of Moritsugu in rei-sho style script is one of the highlights of this piece.

[ Conditions ] The blade has a slight habaki mark. There is a very small spill at the tip of the blade about 13-14cm from the machi. Other than that, it is in good condition.

[ Attachments ] Habaki (suaka-ji, gold foiled, single), shirasaya, bag of shirasaya and NBTHK hozon paper "保存存刀剣鑑定書"( issued on 25th Feb. Reiwa 3(2021))
