[ Highlight ] Bungo no Kuni Naoyuki was a swordsmith from Takada during the mid-Edo period, around the Kyōhō era. He was the son of Motoyuki, said to be a descendant of Yukihira, and changed his name to Yūtetsu (Ari Tō) around the Genbun era. He received the title Yamato no Kami and adopted the pseudonym Onikyo. Possibly due to his father's relocation, he also created swords in Hizen Karatsu. His signatures include: ‘Forged by Naoyuki in Hizen Karatsu’, ‘Made by Onikagami Naoyuki of Bungo Province’, ‘Onikagami Naoyuki of Takada, Toyo Province’, and ‘Forged by Onikagami Naoyuki of Karatsu, Toyo Province’. This wakizashi features a forged surface with intermingled itame grain and mottled grain, displaying a bright, irregular hamon with small nie.

[ Conditions ] There is a slight amount of surface rust.

[ Attachments ] Habaki(suaka-ji, gold foiled single), shirasaya and bag of shirasaya.
