[ Size ] Blade length 50.4cm (1 shaku 6 sun 6 bu 3 rin), sori 1.5cm (4 bu 9 rin), moto-haba 3.01cm, moto-kasane 1,80cm, saki-haba 0,28 cm, saki-kasane 0,28 cm, mekugi-ana(holes) 2, blade weight 655g , shirasaya length 99cm
[ Period ] Edo, first half of. Around Kanbun 寛文
[ Province ] Echizen

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Mihaba is rather wide. Kasane is ordinal. High shinogi-suji attached. There are some differences between moto-haba and saki-haba. Saki zori attached. Chu-kissaki form.
Nakago : Suri-age. Yasurimes are kiri. Saki is kiri. Two holes.
Jigane : Itame-hada. Jinie attached.
Hamon : Gunome-midare, choji-bas mixed. Ashi and yo are appeared. Ko-nie attached. Fine kin-sen and sunagashi appeared.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. Saki has sharp shape. It turns rather long.

[ Highlight ] Kanetane was a Mino swordsmith who lived in Ichijodani, Echizen. There are works from the first generation around the Keicho period to the fourth generation around the Genroku period. This sword has a well-grained jigane base and tip, with a difference in width between the base and saki tip when polished, and shows changes in the loose curved shape with ko-gunome and choji blades intermixed and a small nie boiling effect.

[ Conditions ] Old polish, with very minor stains and flaws.

[ Attachments ] Habaki(suaka-ji, silver foiled under part, double), shirasaya, bag of shirasaya and Certificate of Authenticity from the Firearms and Swords Research Association : 兼植 Kanetane(issued on 27th May Reiwa4(2022)).
