[ Province ] Mino

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Both mihaba and kasane are ordinal. More or less, sori attached. Chu-kissaki extended form.
Nakago : Ub. Yasurime are (omote front) gayku-sujikai, shima-giri), (ura back) suji-kai and shima-giri. Saki is kuri-jiri.
Jigane : Itame-hada well grained. Toward blade side, masa tone appeared. Jinie attached.
Hamon : Notare tone. Ko-gunome and gunome mixed.
Boushi : It runs in shallow midare-komi. Saki has haki-kake form, then it turns.

[ Highlight ]　The Sakakura swordsmiths, including Masatoshi, Masayoshi, Masatoshi and Masayoshi, were a group of swordsmiths who lived in Sakagura, Sakahosura, Kamo-gun, near the border with Owari in Mino. The Shima swordsmith school is said to have originated from this group, which moved from the Oyama base to Sakagura and prospered. The character for ‘tadashi’ is similar to the Muramasa signature, and it has been pointed out that there is a possibility that they may have been in contact with the Chiko Muramasa clan. This work has a masa-grained masa-grained jigane base with itame-hada karu skin and a wavy blade pattern with alternating and ko-gunome patterns, with deep wavy valleys of turbulence. The style is characteristic of the Mino tradition of the late Muromachi period, and the two-character signatures Sakakura Seki and Shozen make this piece a valuable source of information.
