[ Size ] Blade length 26.3,cm (8 sun 6 bu 7 rin), sori 0.1cm (3 rin), mekugi-ana(holes) 2, blade weight 254g , shirasaya length 44cm
[ Period ] From second half of Muromachi through beginning of Edo
[ Province ] Bicchu "備中"

[ Feature ]
Form : Hira-zukuri. Iori-mune. Mihaba is relatively wide. Kasane is thick. A little, sori attached. More or less, fukura attached tanto form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are o-suji-kais. Saki is ha-agari, kuri-jiri. Two holes.
Jigane : Itame-hada with some changes. Rich jinie attached. Chikei and yu-bashiris appeared.
Hamon : Ko-notare, gunomes mixed. Nioikuchi is not so distinctive. Deep nioi appeared. Nie attached well. Ara-nie attached. Kin-sens and sunagashis appeared. Tobi-yaki and mune-yaki appeared.
Boushi : It runs in haki-kake. Ara-nies attached. It shows flame form. It has long yaki toward machi-ue. Ara-nie attached so much.

[ Highlight ] A thick, sturdy form. The ji-gane emphasises the Soshu-den style and is a tanto of dynamic workmanship. The Bitchu-Mizuta school flourished from the end of the Muromachi period (1336-1573) to the Shinto period. There are many swordsmiths who call themselves Kunishige. This work shows an inscription similar to that of Ichizo Kunishige of the early Edo period.
