The sword with the creation year signature "明応八年二月日" is so precious historical material as criterion of Seki no Kanetomo. In meikan directory, there are three candiates who could create this sword. a) A child of Kanetsuna, around Meiô, b) a child of Kanehisa, Tokuin school, around Eishô, and c) Other than two characters signature, who added "濃州関住" or "関住" in the signature.
Considering upon c), the achievement level of this sword and the existence of nenki Tenbun 22 "天文廿二年"(1553) sword which created 54 years later from this sword, it deny the possibility of same man. So, a) or b) is a creater of this sword. Gold inlay signature "延宝四年七月十日貳ツ胴截断" proves the cutting edge of this sword.
