[ Feature ]
Form : The blade features shinogi-zukuri construction with a deep curvature; the body width is ordinary, the thickness is slightly above average, the curvature is pronounced, there is a difference in width between the base and the tip, and the tip is of the medium cutting edge style.
Engraving : The engraving on both the front and back consists of a main groove with secondary grooves running alongside it.
Nakago : The nakago tang is advanced, with a file mark sloping downwards; the tip is cut off, and there are two mekugi holes.
Jigane : The jigane exhibits a mixture of itame-hada and flowing-grain patterns, with a slightly raised texture; it features ji-nie and ground-patterns, with a faint sheen.
Hamon : The hamon consists of small curves mixed with ko-gunome patterns, with small feet and leaf-like elements; in places, the boil is well-defined, with fraying, gold lines and sunagashi patterns.
Boushi : The boushi hamon tip curves inwards, forming a small round shape, sweeping downwards at the tip.

[ Highlight ] This is a fine sword, well-advanced suriage, with a thick layer of grain along the base and tip that creates a slight taper, a well-defined curvature and an excellent overall balance. It is said that the first-generation Iesuke was the son of Hatakeyama Morie; alongside Morimitsu, Yasumitsu and Tsuneie, he is one of the leading Bizen swordsmiths. The jigane features a faint hamon pattern against an itame grain background, and the hamon within the blade exhibits a rich variety of patterns.

[ Conditions ] There is a dent approximately 12 cm above the ‘hamachi’ on the blade. Such marks, which are the result of the sword being used in combat to parry an opponent’s blade, are known as ‘honor marks’.
