[ Period ] Edo, around Kanbun 寛文
[ Province ] Yamashiro 山城

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Mihaba is rather wide. Kasane is ordinal. There are some diffrences between moto-haba and saki-haba. Deep sori attached. Chu-kissaki form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurme are katte-sagari. Saki is kuri-jiri. One hole.
Jigane : Itame-hada. Mokume mixed. Jinie attached.
Hamon : Cho-ji-midare, o-choji, ko-choji, ko-gunome, sharp shape blade pattern mixed. Ko-nie attached. Sunagashi appeared.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. It turns in ko-maru form.

[ Highlight ] It has a gorgeous Bizen-den wavy blade pattern with a highly burnished cho-ji midare from the base and tip, and is believed to have been made in the early Edo period. Ishido Munehiro is said to have been the son of Heki Ippo (also known as Tsunemitsu) and brother of Mitsuhira, and was originally from Omi Ishido , created swords in Kyoto and then moved to Edo. He was a swordsmith of the Kanbun period (1661-1673). The signatures are ‘Heki Echizen-no-kami Minamoto Munehiro’ and ‘Rakuyo Gojo ju Heki Echizen-no-kami Minamoto Munehiro tsukuru’. The date of creation includes the first and fifth years of the Kanbun era.

[ Conditions ] The finish sharpening is not sufficient for appreciation and the yokote stripes are blurred and there are many flaws. There is a very slight edge spillage at the edge of the blade. The sheath is in excellent condition.
