[ Highlight ]Among the swordsmiths descended from Ryōkai of Yamashiro Province, the group that moved to Kyushu and created swords from the Nanboku-chō period through to the Muromachi period is collectively known as Tsukushi Ryōkai. This piece is attributed to Tsukushi Ryōkai. It is a tanto with a slightly thicker layer of grain than its width would suggest, featuring a jigane with an itame-hada grain verging on masame, with a hint of shirake, and a hamon characterised by a nioideki suguha style.

[ Conditions ] There are slight flaws, and the cutting edge shows signs of lateral wear where mono-uchi, the tool strikes the material.
