[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Both mihaba and kasane are ordinal. There are some differences between moto-haba and saki-haba. High sori attached. Chû-kissaki form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yarurimes are taka-no-ha. Saki is iri-yama-gata. One hole.
Jigane : Itame-hada. Some changes mixed. Jinie attached. Chikei appeared.
Hamon : Sugu-ha tone. Ko-gunomes mixed. Ashis appeared. Ko-nie attached. Kin-sens and sunagashis appeared.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. Form is ko-maru. Saki is haki-kake form.
Koshirae : kawari-nuri-zaya uchi-gatana koshirae ; tsuba : futatsu-hiki (two slash lines) and paulownia ; fuchi-gashira : design of flowers (shakudo nanako-ji) ; menuki : design of stirrups (shakudo katachi-bori, gold iroe) ; kougai : design of Japaense quince and kara-hahana pattern (shaku-dô, nanako-ji) ; tsuka : wrapped morotsumami maki technique using black threads.

[ Highlight ] The item included on the "Showa Sword Masterpiece Book" (Murakami Kosuke, Ozankaku, Showa 54). It is also known as the "Nie-kobore Kanesaki (e.g. "沸こぼれ兼先"). Blackish ground iron with nie and chikei. に、It is a straight-edged blade with a tight boder between blade and base iron and fine changes. The blade has a fine nie and a brilliant pattern. It is a well-balanced sword with a high sori. Kanesaki was an Inaba swordsmith of the Hiki clan, and the same name was inherited from the first generation of swordsmiths around Keicho until the Shin-shin-to period. This work is thought to date from the mid-Edo period.
[ Conditions ]Old polish with slight clouding and scabbard rubbing. However, the blade is sound and can be preserved and appreciated in its present condition. The koshirae is in good condition.
