[ Highlight ] Shigehiro was a swordsmith of the Akasaka Senjuin school in Mino province during the Muromachi period (1333-1568). Many Seki swordsmiths are said to have descended from the Yamato Tegai school, but this school is so called because it belongs to the Yamato Senjuin school lineage. Shigehiro is said to have been a swordsmith of the Yamato Senjuin school around Nin'an (1166-1169) and later moved to Akasaka in Mino, where his name remained until the Muromachi period. This sword was made by Shigehiro in the Muromachi period. It has a sturdy body with a clear, straight blade with a well attached nie pattern.
