[ Highlight ]
The blade has a robust and powerful appearance, with a warped and extended cutting edge, and itame-hada skin is well grained, with ground boiling and a finely variegated medium straight blade. Tango no Kami Naomichi was the second son of Kyo I Tanbamori Yoshimichi. There is a theory that his first signature was Naomichi, and that he later succeeded his grandfather's name and changed it to Kanemichi, or that his first signature was Kanemichi and he changed his name to Naomichi around Empo era, when he was approaching his 77th birthday. In Kan'ei 2, he received the title of Tango no Kami and moved to Osaka. Together with Tamba no Kami Yoshimichi I, he contributed to the prosperity of the Mishina school and was one of the leading swordsmiths of the Osaka Shintō school. The bright and clear Jigane is another highlight of this work. The ingenuity in the chiselling of the signature can be seen, and the composition of the blade is unique and interesting.
